Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
A commercial EPC is required by law if you are selling, letting or leasing a flat, house or commercial property in the UK. The objective of the EPC and associated energy rating is to give the prospective purchaser or tenant accurate information relation to the energy performance, energy costs and carbon emissions for the property they are interested in.
Every EPC we complete is registered on the Landmark EPC register and is valid for 10 years.
YOUR LEGAL OBLIGATION:
If you are a landlord of a commercial property an important deadline is fast approaching. Under the MEES Regulations, as from 1st April 2023, if your property has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of F or G it will be unlawful to continue to let it and unless you take action now, you will face the risk of enforcement action and fines from a minimum £5000 up to £150,000.
We've created an important document that covers the key changes here, click on the icon to download.
All improvement works will need to be carried out by 1st April 2023 on properties that are F and G to continue letting them. Please refer to the Government website for more information.
